PLAY HARD PLAY FAIR PLAY WELL

Competition Format

With 15 golfers I feel it is best to play in 3 balls and organise competitions based on this. Handicaps have been adjusted just for Okehampton. Please note that we are applying fines but NOT Chairman's pot on this weekend.

Team Competition - Stableford Matchplay Ryder Cup Singles

Over both days (Saturday and Sunday) there will be a matchplay format Ryder Cup style. There will be three teams of 5 players and each player in each team will theoretically play against the other 10 from the other groups.

EG.

Player 1 from Group A plays against all from from Group B and C.

If Player 1 (Group A) beats all those from the other group in terms of stableford points then he will accumulate 10 points for his team, eg 1 point for each win. If he shares the same number of points as one of the 10 he is playing against then they will share half a point each.

EG.

Group A  Player 1  30 points

Group B  All 5 players get 29 points

Group C Player 1 gets 32 points and Player 2 gets 30 points other 3 get 29 points.

Thus, Player 1 from Group A gets a total of 8.5 Ryder Cup Points.

Player 1 from Group C gets 10 Ryder Cup Points

Player 2 from Group C gets 9.5 Ryder Cup points

and so on....

All points for all three groups over both days will be counted together.

Confused? Then don't worry let me, Jogi and an Excel sheet worry about it!!!!!!!!
