WATCH OUT GEOFF'S ABOUT
Watch out Geoff's about at Beedles
At Beedles Lake we find Geoff at the top and the rest of us hiding behind trees. It was confusing despite that nearby lake we saw none of it anywhere on the course. What a round he has had. It's been a long time coming. 34 points containing 2 birdies and four pars. The more astounding thing is that he could have had more but put the handicap protector scores in by only getting 2 points in the last four holes. It is a great round playing off 14. Let’s hope this form continues and I can cut even more.
In second sees the current closets challenger to Phil for the Caratella Cup, Shane. A credible 31 points where once again he another one fails to take advantage of the last four holes. In third and a bit behind with 27 points was Sean. He pips third place in front of Nick. These two seem to be trundling along and fighting it out for third and could make a huge surge for the Caratella Cup in the coming final months.
Once again with only 12 attending it certainly feels like the society it is whittling away, slowly but steadily. Whatever events we have left let’s make sure they are good ones, i.e. venue, participation and weather.

It seems we have played this course before but for the life of me I cannot remember one bit of it. Loads of trees but hardly any water. Clearly as mentioned above it’s certainly not in the name. As far as I can tell everyone enjoyed the course. Some challenging holes and some easy holes with greens running true. A thinking man’s course? Nah Geoff won!!! HAHAHAH!! The breakfast once again was great and just about the right amount. Yours truly has reached the final of the very last Etone Golf Society Matchplay. Phil was not great though as he wasn’t drunk.
The next event is the ST MELLION WEEKEND. A lot of us are looking forward to it. The whole weekend is based on team events so we can bond. All the information is on the website, and I will work my magic as usual with the weather. Please ensure you read and understand the relevant pages for the events. It’s not difficult. I am of the understanding that some of you are intelligent. DO NOT LEAVE IT TO SOMEBODY ELSE. MAKE A COMMITMENT.
The next society one day event is at Ruddington Golf Club. The date is 20th July 2025. Please get your monies into me if you intend to go. See you there.
