Welcome to Etone Golf Society, a Society for golfers who enjoy their golf in a fun and competitive environment. It is mainly aimed at golfers of all abilities who do not wish to commit to a whole years membership. This could be either as a result of time or financial constraints (especially in the current climate), but would like the odd casual friendly game in a not too serious competitive atmosphere.
With the current credit crunch and the existing economic uncertainty it is quite understandable for golfers to withdraw or suspend memberships. However, this does not have to be the end of your golf season. If you still want to enjoy your golf and still want to be actively involved in playing, then the Etone Golf Society is the answer for you.
Whether you have visited or received an information pack because you have shown an interest in Golf, joining a Golf Society, or received it because you liked the look of what Etone Golf Society has to offer. Congratulations on making the first move to learning the basics of this wonderful game and making new friends. I hope this website or the information pack is informative and that it provides you with a basic insight into the Society, how it works, plays and its standards.
Formed in 2001, the Society uses Etone Sports Centre, Nuneaton as a base for communication and has done since its formation. Growing in stature every year, it accommodates every ability and level, from the novice to the expert.
Its main aims and objectives include the following:
* Provide and promote golfing opportunities for all in the local community
* To provide a friendly and social environment in which to learn and play golf.
* To experience a multitude of golf courses
* Enjoy golf in a relaxed and fun environment
* Create socialising aspects outside of golf
There are host of other minor aims and objectives the Society provides that the individual may benefit from, i.e. new skills, friendship, teamwork and comradeship. As well as the golf there are outside social events. Special events, competitions with prizes and plenty of fun are always on the agenda.
The Society meets every year from March to October, once a month. The dates for these meetings are dictated by the availability of courses. An up-to-date programme can be found on this website and in the pack including dates and prices. However, it is certain that meetings are held on Sundays and near the third week of each month. On occasions there may be additional Society events put on and you will be notified via this website or the monthly newsletter when the season is up and running.
The Society encourages constructive feedback, ideas and new initiatives. Please bring them forward to any Committee member.
