CARATELLA CUP TROPHY
Tony is the beast at Beeston with another fabulous round of 29 points and providing a late run to get within the top three in the Caratella Cup. Looking at his card I couldn’t believe what I saw. The big question? How can someone win the day and not registering a single par? There’s one for you. In second place, and I think (I could be wrong) mathematically cannot be caught for the Caratella Cup with 28 points. Well done Phil if I am right. You are the last winner, potentially with me at the helm. In third, sees DP making another fine performance with 26 points and moves him up the ladder too.
I am sure you will agree with me that the breakfast was excellent as well as the course. We were look after by all with the course looking in fine condition. I guess that was expected considering they had the tournament on. Greens quick, fairways excellent and a challenge. Some very nice holes and the weather held up for us. I hope without me the weather holds up for you next year.
Well done do Rob Luxton in our matchplay final. I good golf played by both and close as Rob won 1 up. Rob went in front after hole two and I never got level at any time.

I even tried putting him off by desperately needing the bathroom. Never has that happened before to me. Luckily for me there was a porta loo near by and Rob gave me his serviette to use whilst Neil gave me a Warwickshire Golf Club towel, due to the lack of any toilet paper in it. Thanks fellas, you are life savers. Didn’t improve my game despite me jumping about and struggling prior to the visit. Oh how everyone laughed.
The next event is the rearranged game at Coventry Golf Club on Sunday 19th October. Fingers crossed the weather holds out for us as this is probably the latest in the year we have had a round.
Presentation evening is on Saturday 1st November 2025. The cost and menu choices are at the back. Please get everything (numbers/money/selection) to Phil asap. Please do not leave it to the last minute. The full itinerary is below. Hoping to see you all there with loads of friends and family.
I will circulate and notify details for when the AGM will be but for now let’s enjoy the last event and the presentation evening and get as many people going as we can.
